FoodTechthon’21

The Society of Food Science and Technology of University of Peradeniya has collaborated with EdScale Up for a mission of seeking the innovative solutions for the technological advancement of the food industry of Sri Lanka. Organizing the first ever Food Science and Tech. related hackathon program in Sri Lanka, we have taken the lead to create a competitive platform for the enthusiasts to recognize existing problems in the industrial ecosystem and explore solutions.

This project will create an interactive platform for undergraduates, postgraduates and industry professionals to share their knowledge and experience, and to utilize them in formulating solutions to enhance the efficiency of the industry. Participants will be given the privilege of attending a series of webinars hosted by experts in Food Science and Technology and industrial professionals, and also design thinking, digital marketing, business canvas modeling and entrepreneurship programs that will enlighten them. The necessary guidance in making their idea a reality will be provided through these webinar sessions and mentoring programs. The potential ideas that emerge through this competition will be provided the opportunity to be developed into a promising start up. It is ensured that not just winners, all the participants will be supported and guided to establish their own start ups by further advancement of their idea.
