IMSSA holds the pride in organizing one of the most successful inter-university hackathons – hackX, for four consecutive years. This year hackX will unfold its fifth successive chapter as hackX 2020 by revamping the ordinary hackathon into an Innovative Startup Challenge. This allows more refined solid startups to emerge through the industrial level product development guidance provided.

HackX 2020 is open to all undergraduates; 30 teams will be selected to an Initial Pitch of their Ideas (hackX – ideaX) after a thorough evaluation of the proposals submitted. 10 finalists including the top 8 teams selected from ideaX and top 02 teams selected by an internal Ideasprint held within the Department of Industrial Management.

The finalists will be given a month (04 weeks) to develop and implement their innovative ideas. During this period, individual Mentors will be allocated per team to help and guide the team in development.

Additional to the mentoring support, there will be workshops that will be conducted online that will support the teams in grooming their ideas into worthy Startups. Anyone who is interested can join these workshops. Two Technical Workshop webinars, Sustainability and Business Workshop webinar and Social Media & Marketing Webinar will be held to support the teams in grooming their ideas into worthy Startups.

The finalists will subsequently pitch their ideas to an expert panel of judges together with a product demonstration, through which the winners will be chosen. The event will also be graced by Investors interested in funding new Startups.
