Open Hack 2021

The Mozilla Campus Club and FOSS community of IIT is organizing an Inter-University Hackathon “Open Hack 2021”. The purpose of this project is to encourage young adults in higher education to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions to real-world problems while working in a team with their peers. Open Hack 2021 is open to all undergraduates. Once registered, each team will be asked to submit a proposal of their innovation or idea before the application deadline. Then, a support session would be held to cover the topics needed for the competitors to participate in the hackathon. 20 teams will be selected to take part in the Initial Pitch round, after the evaluation of the proposals submitted. 10 teams will be selected to compete in the Semifinal round and the social media contest. These teams will also be given 10 days to develop a prototype of their idea. Mentors would be assigned to each team during this period to guide the participants through the process. 5 out of the 10 teams will be selected to proceed to the final round where the teams have to pitch their ideas to an expert panel of judges as well as demonstrate their product. 10000 ideas, an initiative by ICTA will be pre- incubate the hackathon. The Grand Finale will be held physically depending on the situation of the country and the restrictions applied or otherwise will be a fully virtual event.
